Australian Society for Medical Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ASME)

Empowering Clinician Innovators. Transforming Healthcare at Scale.

The Australian Society for Medical Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ASME) is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering clinicians, medical students, and healthcare professionals to lead innovation and entrepreneurship in the health sector. ASME’s mission is to make entrepreneurship and innovation a mainstream, recognised pathway for clinicians seeking to make a broader impact on patient outcomes and system transformation.

Through its national network, ASME connects clinicians, founders, investors, researchers, and policy leaders who share a vision for a more innovative, sustainable, and patient-centred healthcare system. The organisation runs educational events, innovation workshops, and professional development programs that equip members with the tools and networks needed to take ideas from concept to impact.

ASME is also the founding delivery partner of the Australian Clinical Entrepreneur Program (AUSCEP) - a 12-month, part-time accelerator developed to help clinicians translate their ideas into viable ventures. Supported by initiatives like LaunchVic and MTPConnect, the program has helped clinicians nationwide create startups, develop new digital health technologies, and drive cultural change within healthcare.

As an AMA-accredited Certified Learning Provider, ASME’s programs and events also contribute to clinicians’ Continuing Professional Development (CPD), ensuring innovation aligns with ongoing professional growth.

With an expanding community across Australia, ASME continues to champion the belief that every clinician can be an innovator, transforming healthcare through creativity, collaboration, and impact.
